We like to feel that all of our medical clients receive a warm and professional service at this sensitive time, and it is our aim to supply the best product for the individual, as quickly as possible. For us, hair loss and the products required to replace the hair, is divided into two main categories.

The first is the temporary hair loss caused by chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments for various cancers. These clients get very little warning, but have the consolation of knowing that their hair should resume its former glory, and regrowth will start as soon as they finish their final treatment. Many will choose to wear a full wig matching their own style and color during this time (averaging 9 months to one year). Wigwam is a customer responsive company and we have found that clients undergoing these treatments are happiest wearing hand made wigs, which are smaller than fashion wigs to accommodate the hair loss, feather light with a lace top for realism. Therefore we carry a large range of these in store. We also recommend fashion wigs with a scalp detail providing the fit and density [thickness] are suitable.

The second type of hair loss is long term, intermittent or sometimes even permanent, and these are often classed as aloepecia aorta or aloepecia totalis. For this type of hair loss we recommend the use of a fashion or hand made wig initially while there is some hair present and the use of custom made wigs if the hair loss is established as complete or permanent.
